Our backyard pool, style: Tuscan Recession

We signed the papers to build our pool way way way way way way back in July. It has taken a long time to complete, mainly due to strict guidelines through League City. A hurricane did not help matters either! We went with Platinum Pools. Here are some pics of our big, empty backyard before.

The dig finally began on October 31.

And we had a huge mess for months as the rest of the stuff happened amid lots of rain. Pool 049

We decided not to do the traditional blue and white with fishy fishy cutey pie look. Instead we went with dark colors. Reds browns-Tuscan Villa look but of course a blue bottom. Here some of our choices.

We chose this dark chocolate brown color to accent it all for the deck. Not the fake rock patten but the color. It did not take so well come to find out. But that is okay because I was quite nervous about a brown deck.

Finally this week, the plaster began and here it is. I am putting the water in it now! More pics to come!

Now, due to a ginormo tax bill our landscaping/outdoor furniture budget is going straight to the IRS. This will be a BYOC-bring your own chair backyard for some time! We will begin little by little planting some things though to add color and make it not look quite so -tuscan recession-ish.
